Frederick Schnieders 2
Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. The predilection for portrait and figuration was ignited there by model drawing. This opened the doors to his search and thorough study through oil paint as a medium.
In his paintings Schnieders searches for the balance between color and technique with great respect for the Impressionists and the Renaissance painters.
He chooses subjects from his immediate environment, the internet, video stills and magazines.
There is a constant dialogue with the painting itself, in which the figures and persons portrayed lead a life of their own and give the viewer a thoughtful and pure look.
The ultra honest and dimensional work is made up of many layers that provide a lush oasis of color. The artist now wants to focus on further studying his technique and translating it on a large format.
